Bison Trails, a popular blockchain infrastructure provider, has teamed up with Coinbase Custody to allow the users of the trading platform to stake Polkadot's DOT token.

Coinbase Custody users will be able to delegate DOT tokens to its validators to earn staking rewards, the company announced in an official press release that was shared yesterday.

Coinbase Custody, Coinbase's custody service, added support for the DOT token in February.

According to Bison CEO and founder Joe Lallouz, the partnership with Coinbase Custody will allow users to participate in the security of the Polkadot network while earning money.

Coinbase's custody service currently offers the possibility of staking Tezos.

Coinbase Custody CEO Sam McIngvale said:

"Staking is an increasingly important element of the crypto ecosystem. It provides Coinbase Custody clients, many of whom have obligations to their investors, with a crypto-native way to participate in network rewards while also contributing to the security and governance of the ecosystem. Working with partners like Bison Trails allows us to offer our clients an easy way to participate in Proof of Stake networks like Polkadot (DOT) at launch."

The launch of the Polkadot project, which attracted $145M through its ICO in 2017, is scheduled to take place this year.
