Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and of the popular payments platform Square, has just donated 28% of his fortune to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
He has established the fund Start Small LLC and has invested $1B in it, about 28% of his fortune.
He has said through his official Twitter account:
I’m moving $1B of my Square equity (~28% of my wealth) to #startsmall LLC to fund global COVID-19 relief. After we disarm this pandemic, the focus will shift to girl’s health and education, and UBI. It will operate transparently, all flows tracked here: https://t.co/hVkUczDQmz

Dorsey has decided to make this important donation in spite of the fact that Twitter's income forecasts are not too optimistic.
The company said in late March in a report presented to investors that "although the short-term financial impact of this pandemic is rapidly evolving and difficult to measure," based on the data available at the time, the company's expected revenues for January-March were "slightly lower" than those recorded during the same period last year.
