According to ConsenSys, the hackathon aims to bring together healthcare developers and experts "to help collect, standardize, verify, and optimize data to aid scientists as they seek to better understand COVID-19."

The prize fund of the hackathon will be $20 000 ($10 000 for the 1st place, $7000 for the 2nd and $3000 for the 3rd). Hackathon organizers write:

"Winning entries will be fast-tracked for additional funding sources through Gitcoin and ConsenSys grants, as well as other funding opportunities within ConsenSys Health."

The event is also supported by Hyperledger, OpenMined and One Million Developers. ConsenSys claims its mission is to bring Ethereum technology to support and to respond to the crisis.

Earlier iHodl reported that JPMorgan Chase's blockchain-focused department Quorum was planning to merge with crypto-startup ConsenSys.
