Bitcoin has started the day posting minor losses. At press time, the largest cryptocurrency by market cap is trading at $6,626.76 (-1.07%), according to CoinMarketCap.

For its part, Ethereum has fallen to $135.87 (-2.2%), while XRP has dropped by 0.06% and is now trading at $0.161.
It has recently been reported the difficulty of Bitcoin mining has fallen by 15.95%, experiencing the second largest fall in its history. The fall in complexity suggests some miners have decided to switch off their devices and stop mining.
This is reflected in the network hashrate. Yesterday, this level fell to 75.7 EH/s and then recovered to 99.5 EH/s. Due to this sharp drop, the block extraction time was extended to over 10 minutes.
