An American venture capital investor & founder of Draper Fisher Jurvetson Tim Draper has expressed hope to fund several cryptocurrency-related startups in India after India's Supreme Court lifted the Reserve Bank of India's ban that prevented banks from offering their services to crypto-related companies.

In an interview with Inc42 Draper said he had already met several bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) and crypto startups while he was in India last week.

"I hope to be able to fund a number of them," he added.

The well-known bitcoin supporter believes that in the long term, the financial crisis will allow people to recognize that bitcoin "is simply a better way to hold value and spend money than through our current banking system."

Earlier iHodl reported that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced plans to file a petition in relation to the Supreme Court's decision on cryptos.
