Crypto platform Bakkt has just announced the users of its Bakkt Cash app will soon be able to use it to pay with cryptos in Starbucks.
Bakkt's parent company Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) announced back in August 2018 it was working to enable its app to be used to pay with cryptos in retail stores.
Almost 2 years later, Bakkt president Adam White has announced on Twitter the integration of the company's app with Starbucks:
We're also reducing payment costs for merchants which improves their bottom line. Open your @Starbucks app to see our first direct integration and select @Bakkt to sign up for our Early Access Program pic.twitter.com/sZ3YlE0Sj9

Yesterday it was reported Bakkt has raised around $300M from several investors to further develop digital asset services.
Even though this new functionality that allows paying with cryptos at Starbucks will eventually become available to all users, at the moment users wishing to participate in the test must register in the platform's Early Access Program.
