The spread of the coronavirus is affecting both traditional markets and the blockchain and crypto industry.

Thus, two important events scheduled for this month were postponed on Friday due to the outbreak of this virus.

Bitcoin 2020, an event organized by BTC Inc., should have been held on March 27 and 28. However, the company CEO David Bailey has reported the celebration has been put off to the third quarter of the year due to the epidemic.

The DC Blockchain Summit, which should be held this week in Washington, D.C., has also been postponed, although there is no new date yet. As it has been reported, "we are currently working on a new date for the event and will update you with our plan on this site once that information is available. This was a difficult decision, but the health and safety of our speakers, guests and the Chamber team comes first."

However, another event, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Bitcoin Expo, has not been cancelled, although new measures have been implemented in order to prevent the spread of the virus. According to the organizers:

"Each room will be capped @ 150 people. There will be hand sanitizer and soap available - keep hands clean. Please refrain from shaking hands - don't be offended."

iHodl reported last week the Paris blockchain week had been postponed due to the coronavirus.
