Ripple CTO David Schwartz has said the company is working on a feature that will allow its users to create tokens on XRP's blockchain.
According to him, this new functionality involves the launch of fixed-value tokens pegged to other assets. He said:
"Stablecoins are an obvious scenario, but they can be not only stablecoins, but also any other asset linked to an external value."
Schwartz claims tokens created on XRP will have "guaranteed" liquidity.
Ripple's investment division Xpring acquired the Logos Network platform last year in order to develop products for the decentralized finance (DeFi) industry.
iHodl reported last month Ripple had invested $11.3M in the payment processor MoneyGram, which shows the company is constantly improving the services it offers.
