Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced it has become the first crypto company to be approved as a Visa principal member.
According to an official announcement, Visa membership will help Coinbase to further improve the customer experience.
From now on, the exchange will no longer have to use the services of third-party companies to issue Coinbase Card debit cards. Coinbase expects that this appointment will positively affect the massive adoption of cryptocurrencies.
"Today’s announcement is another significant milestone in the mainstream adoption of crypto as a genuine utility. We will continue to build on this relationship with further initiatives that make interacting with crypto as seamless as possible for our customers," the exchange said in the statement.
Approximately half of the exchange clients who’d signed up to Coinbase Card use it regularly, the exchange claimed.
Previously Coinbase Commerce, the US crypto exchange's platform for merchants, added DAI cryptocurrency as a payment option.
