Hong Kong-based crypto trading platform Bitfinex has suspended trading operations today due to technical maintenance. The maintenance work started at 11:00 CET and should last about 4-7 hours.
According to the platform's official blog, the exchange will carry out some technical maintenance aimed at increasing the stability and scalability of the infrastructure of its parent company iFinex. Bitfinex CTP Paolo Ardoino has said:
"This is a critical infrastructure upgrade that will allow us to release a series of scalability improvements in Bitfinex. We expect to achieve significant improvements in response time and performance in our API."
All iFinex trading platforms will go offline during the maintenance period in order to carry out the maintenance work. This means that traders will not be able to trade, view or access their wallets during the upgrade.
The exchange will report on the progress of the maintenance through its official Twitter account and the Bitfinex status page.
