The Naval Air Warfare Center, a US Navy research group, has invested around $10M in the California-based blockchain software firm Simba Chain to develop a secure messaging app, the company said through a press release yesterday.

According to the company CEO Joel Neidig, "the platform will be up this year, with on going updates over the next 4 years."

This US Navy center has reportedly tasked the company with developing a platform which will allow the Navy to carry out secure transactions and exchange messages on a blockchain.

This is not the first time the US military works with Simba Chain. In August last year, Simba Chain started developing a blockchain supply chain solution for the Air Force.
