Twitter Adds Bitcoin Emoji

Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey posted on February 2 a tweet in which he used the Bitcoin emoji for the first time.

In addition, he has tagged Unicode, the consortium responsible for character encoding, probably with the intention of encouraging it to do the same.

From now on, every time a Twitter user types the Bitcoin or BTC hashtag, the emoji will appear right next to it.

Dorsey's proposal to encourage Unicode to include the emoji has been received with optimism by the crypto community and received support from several important players in the industry, such as Lightning Labs co-founder Elizabeth Stark.

Prominent community members such as Justin Sun, the founder of TRON and CEO of BitTorrent, have already tried the new emoji.

Binance's official Twitter account has published a tweet with the new emoji in which it asks the crypto community to start using it to make it trending topic.
