Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced it will stop providing services to Japanese residents in the foreseeable future.

According to the official announcement, the exchange plans to gradually restrict transactions for Japanese residents.

"As soon as the details of the transaction restrictions are determined, we will contact you shortly," the exchnage added.

However, as for now, there are no restrictions on transactions, and all services are available as usual.

Earlier iHodl reported that the Central Bank of Japan (BOJ), the Bank of Japan, was conducting research on the possible issuance of a central bank digital currency (CBDC).
