Crypto derivatives platform FTX has just launched a new Bitcoin options trading service, the company CEO Sam Bankman-Fried has announced on his official Twitter account.

The service went live on January 11. On the same day, the company's CEO said the operations volume in the market had reached $1M in just 2 hours.

The platform has not specified which cryptoassets are compatible with options trading, although the only crypto available now is Bitcoin.

The exchange was founded in early 2019 and offers derivatives trading, including quarterly and perpetual contracts on several cryptoassets and over-the-counter (OTC) services.

In addition, the platform has recently received an important investment from Binance.

Crypto derivatives are gaining popularity. For instance, Malta-based crypto trading platform OKEx has recently announced it has launched its Bitcoin options trading to all its users.
