Thailand's largest commercial bank (in total assets) Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has signed a partnership with Ripple to help bring the company into the digital age and develop a mobile application that runs on Ripple, called SCB Easy, the official press release states.

SCB’s SVP of Commercial Banking, Arthit Sriumporn says this year, SCB is planning to expand into Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam — collectively known as the CLMV countries.

Sriumporn adds the bank is collaborating with Ripple to offer cross-border EMVCo QR payments.

Earlier iHodl reported that Ripple intends to expand its business in Brazil by partnering with more banks in the country in 2020.
