Bitbox, the crypto trading platform owned by Japanese instant messaging service LINE, has just announced it has decided to delist XRP.

According to the company's announcement, support for the crypto will be suspended on January 16, so its users will no longer be able to trade XRP on the following pairs: XRP/BTC, XRP/ETH and XRP/USDT.

As a result of the exchange's decision, users have until February 16 to withdraw their XRP funds.

Even though the platform has not revealed the reasons behind its decision, the exchange has said currencies that do not meet its "performance, reliability, liquidity or legal and regulatory requirements" are removed from the exchange.

LINE currently has two exchanges: Bitbox, which was launched back in July 2018, and Bitmax, which has recently received a license from the Japanese watchdog.
