Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has announced it will add support for the second-biggest stablecoin in the world USD Coin (USDC) starting January 8.
According to the official press release, the exchange will open deposits and withdrawals for USDC at approximately 14:30 UTC on January 8.
The first trading operations will reportedly start shortly "after funding is enabled."
Kraken will support a newly-introduced stablecoin with the following pairs: XBT/USDC, ETH/USDC, USDC/EUR, USDC/USD, USDC/USDT.
USDC is a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin based on Ethereum’s ERC-20 protocol.
Earlier iHodl reported that Kraken acquired Circle's OVC desk in order to focus on its stablecoin USD Coin.
