Popular U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is planning to disable the dApp browser functionality from the Coinbase Wallet in order to comply with App Store policy.

According to a Reddit post, which was later confirmed by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, the dApp browser support will remain on desktop versions of the wallet.

Armstrong says Apple is trying to be eliminating the usage of dApps from the App Store once and for all.

"This is really unfortunate to see. If Apple customers want to be able to use Dapps, we may need to make this request know to Apple in some way," the exchange's head said.

Armstrong believes dApps is an important area of innovation in finance, where many developers and adopters of this tech "have millions of dollars worth of crypto tied up in these financial applications."
