Uzbekistan has legislatively banned the use of cryptocurrency as a mean of payment, Sputnik reports citing the order of the Director of the National Agency for Project Management.
"Cryptocurrency assets cannot be used on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan as a means of payment or payment," the order says.
The document also established the procedure for the operation of crypto-exchange trading on the territory of the republic.
Uzbekistan law allows the promotion of crypto assets, tokens and the activities of cryptocurrency exchanges, but only if the buyer is not misled. In particular, it must be warned of the risk of losing all investments.
Earlier iHodl reported that China's central bank, the People’s Bank of China (PBoC), issued a report, according to which, the financial regulator has banned over 170 crypto-related and token-issuing platforms and exchanges.
