A subsidiary of Japanese electronic commerce and online retailing company Rakuten, Rakuten Wallet Inc., announced that it has launched a new service that allows its users to convert Rakuten Super Points into cryptocurrencies via the Rakuten Wallet app.

According to the official announcement, the new service allows converting Rakuten Super Points into bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin), ethereum (ETH), and bitcoin cash (BCH).

The Rakuten Super Points can reportedly be exchanged from the amounts of 100 Rakuten Super Points and above.

"Through the launch of the new service, Rakuten Wallet hopes to reduce the barriers of entry to crypto asset trading by providing an easy and more accessible way for new users to start, including novice users who are interested in crypto asset trading with no prior experience," states the announcement.

Earlier iHodl reported that bitcoin started the day in the red trend. Popular crypto analyst Tony Weiss claims the community should not expect bitcoin to grow by 3,500% as venture capitalist Tim Draper had previously predicted.
