Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. a U.S.-based operator of global exchanges and clearing houses has announced it appointed Mike Blandina as the new Chief Executive Officer of Bakkt, the digital assets trading, and payments platform.
The appointment took effect on December 20, following the departure of founding CEO Kelly Loeffler.
Blandina has been working at Bakkt from the very start of the company as Chief Product Officer.
Jeffrey Sprecher, Founder, Chairman and CEO of ICEA claims Blandina will chart Bakkt’s strategic direction, payment products and markets, as well as overseeing the regulatory and financial performance of the company.
"His more than 25 years of experience in payments across product, engineering, strategy and operations will continue to serve us well," Sprecher added.
Earlier iHodl reported that Chief Executive of ICE-backed crypto exchange Bakkt decided to step down in order to become a U.S. Senator of Georgia starting January 2020.
