Venezuela is planning to airdrop its digital token Petro to each beneficiary via the PetroApp platform, the local news outlet El Universal reports.

The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has declared that starting from the next week, pensioners, retirees, public sector workers, military and civilians, in general, will be deposited half of Petro token.

The Venezuelan president claims the airdrop fulfills the function of the Christmas bonus. The payment amount will reportedly be equivalent to $30.

Earlier iHodl reported that according to data provided by Coin Dance, a company specialized in tracking the trading activity on the P2P platforms Localbitcoins, Paxful and Bisq, during the 7 days prior to July 20 several records were broken in Venezuela.
