Cryptocurrency ecosystem Stellar (XLM) in cooperation with Keybase has announced the closure of 2 billion XLM airdrop.
According to the official announcement, the reason for the closure is "hordes of fake people."
"Starting in the last week or so, hordes of fake people were beginning to come in, far beyond the capacity of Keybase or SDF to filter. It's not in the Stellar network's interest to reward those people; it is also not in Keybase's interest to have them as Keybase users," Keybase said in the announcement.
Earlier iHodl reported that Stellar wanted to give away up to 2 billion XLM tokens ( ~ $120 million) for 20 months.
