A system includes a middleware server computer receiving, over a distributed computing network from a remote computing node, confirmation of a validated transfer of footwear from one party to another.

The patent shows that the system may be using ERC721 or ERC1155 tokens may be assigned to the physical shoes and to the cryptographic digital asset.

In some cases, a digital asset may include genotype information and/or phenotype information for a digital shoe, the patent states.

This genotype/phenotype data may represent certain traits, attributes, colors, styles, backgrounds, etc.

Back in April iHodl reported that Nike filed a trademark application with the U.S Patent and Trademark Office for a crypto-related product, called "Cryptokicks."
