The bitcoin network yesterday registered a maximum transaction volume in one hour - $8.9B.
At the same time, Whale Alert highlighted through its official Twitter account that it had identified a wide number of transactions worth over 55,000 BTCs between several unknown addresses. The name of the cryptocurrency trading platform Bittrex was present in some of these transactions. Whale Alert has noted that this process is called peeling and is frequently used by crypto exchanges.
A bit later, Bittrex said the its users' funds are safe and sound.
Bittrex plans to carry out a scheduled technical maintenance on its platform from 19:00 to 20:00 UTC time. During this time, users will not be able to access their accounts and execute transactions.
