The data of 1.4 million users of cryptocurrency wallet GateHub has been leaked to the Internet, Ars Technica has reported citing the security researcher Troy Hunt.
According to him, a 3.72 GB database which included email addresses and account passwords at GateHub has been leaked to the Internet. The database owner assures it also includes two-factor authentication keys, mnemonic phrases and wallet hashes. However, GateHub representatives claim that wallet hashes have not been accessed.
The database was published in August on a portal that receives a large number of visits.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time GateHub is the victim of a hacker attack. For example, in June it suffered an attack in which hackers managed to access 18,473 encrypted user accounts.
Troy Hunt is a well-known cybersecurity researcher who has created a breach notification service called Have I Been Pwned.
iHodl Spain reported in June that a group of hackers had managed to hack the platform and steal 23.2 million XRP tokens from its users.
