German Airline Hahn Air has issued a real-world tickets tied to the blockchain technology, the official announcement states.

According to Hahn Air, it's the first airline with blockchain-powered tickets. The first users of new technology reportedly were Maksim Izmaylov, Founder of Winding Tree, Davide Montali, CIO of Winding Tree, and Frederick Nowotny, Head of Sales Engineering at Hahn Air.

Nowotny says the company is constantly exploring new technologies and it's proud to demonstrate its technical capability to issue blockchain-powered Hahn Air tickets.

"Our goal is to investigate and monitor the opportunities this technology holds for travel distribution, even if widespread acceptance is still a vision of the future," he added.

Earlier iHodl reported that the Canadian division of Walmart, Walmart Canada, and DLT Labs™ launched a blockchain-based freight and payment network.
