¡Changpeng Zhao, CEO of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by adjusted trading volume, has just announced during a company event held yesterday in Singapore he intends to add support for 180 more fiat coins to his platform.
He said that "one of the most important things he intends to do over the next 6-9 months is to add support for 180 more national currencies to his crypto trading platform."
This initiative aims to allow more users to access the high liquidity of the exchange directly through their national currencies. To do so, the company is entering into agreements with third parties in order to add as many fiat/crypto pairs as possible.
Binance's fiat/crypto platform is currently compatible with 5 national currencies that have been added in recent weeks: the Nigerian naira, the Russian ruble, the euro, the Ukrainian hryvnia and the Kazakh tenge.
Changpeng Zhao announced Binance's fiat/crypto gateway in October.
