China's National Development and Reform Commission has just released a new version of its "Industrial Structure Adjustment Guidance Catalog", which lists the industries to be developed, limited or eliminated. One of the main surprises of the new version of the document is that crypto mining has not been included in it.

The Chinese regulator said in April that crypto mining is an "undesirable industry" and proposed its ban.

Commission representatives said that since then they have received over 2,500 appeals, most of which have been considered. The new version of the list will come into force on January 1 and will replace the current version, which was published in 2011.

This movement in favor of the industry comes shortly after the president of the country, Xi Jinping, publicly called for the adoption of blockchain.

In September iHodl reported Inner Mongolian authorities had decided to limit crypto mining in their territory as part of the Chinese central government's plan to expel the mining sector from the country.
