Indian Ministry of Defence Wants to Use Blockchain

The Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) is planning to use blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and big data in order "to meet the challenges of modern warfare," said Rajnath Singh Minister of Defence of India.

According to the Times of India, Singh is convinced that blockchain technology has revolutionized the existing paradigm of warfighting.

Rajnath Singh claims digitalization is the main tool for future security scenarios based on digital technologies in defense manufacturing.

"The role of AI, big data and blockchain technologies has already revolutionised the existing paradigm of warfighting. The defence industry is undergoing a churning to cope and employ these technologies, in order to safeguard the safety and security of critical infrastructure," Singh added.

Earlier iHodl reported that the Supreme Court of India delayed a hearing on a possible ban of cryptocurrencies until November 19th, 2019.
