Investment department of a real-time gross settlement system, currency exchange and remittance network created by Ripple Labs Inc., Ripple Xpring, has invested $2.2 million in biometric cybersecurity startup Keyless in order to expand a security product.
According to Yahoo! Finance, Keyless is focused on combining biometrics with multi-party computation. The startup has also raised investments from gumi Cryptos Capital, Blockchain Valley Ventures and LuneX.
Paolo Gasti, Keyless Co-founder and CTO, claims the company doesn't want the network to spy on user biometrics.
"This way the authentication happens right there and wasn’t just a session replay of a previous authentication," Gasti added.
Previously iHodl reported that the former counselor to Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchi, Craig Phillips, joined Ripple's board of directors.
