General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping has said that the country's party should focus on the blockchain technology as a core one, Xinhua.net reports.

During a special meeting held on Thursday, Xi noted that China already has enough resources to make blockchain the state's main priority.

This is why China, according to Xi Jinping, needs to "take the key position in the emerging field of blockchain."

General Secretary of the Communist Party of China also made it clear he will promote the integration of blockchain with the traditional economic system, to solve various problems in the existing systems.

Earlier China's agency for Internet regulation, censorship, supervision and control, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), released its second list of registered blockchain service providers.

Also, Binance Research, Binance's research division, announced that users will not need a traditional bank account to transfer China's upcoming central bank digital currency (CBDC).
