Ripple Opens New Office in Washington

Payment company Ripple, developer of the XRP token, has just announced that it has opened a new office in Washington D.C. in an attempt to foster its relationship with regulators.

Per the official announcement, the main task of this office will be to educate legislators on cryptocurrencies and blockchain tech so that they actually know what they are regulating.

Besides, the firm has also joined the Blockchain Association, a non-profit organization focused on defending blockchain and promoting its adoption worldwide, and has added four new members - Craig Phillips, Michelle Bond, Ron Hammond and Susan Friedman - to its international regulatory team. Michelle Bond will also serve on the board of the Blockchain Association.

iHodl reported at the end of last month it had acquired a crypto startup to explore the field of DeFi (decentralized finance).

This month it was reported that Ripple had invested in the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Mexico.
