Fintech startup Revolut has partnered with payment processor Mastercard to issue debit cards in the US, both companies have announced today.

These new debit cards will be launched in the country by the end of the year.

Nik Storonsky, founder and CEO of Revolut, said:

"Launching in the US will be a huge milestone for us, and we are delighted Mastercard will be our go-to-market partner."

According to the deal, Mastercard will issue at least 50% of all Revolut cards in Europe.

This partnership will also allow Revolut to expand to Asia Pacific and Latin America, including Australia, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, Brazil and Mexico.

Thanks to this cooperation, Revolut will also benefit from Mastercard's technology and will integrate it within its products, starting with Mastercard’s Send platform.

Revolut started in 2017 to offer the possibility of exchanging bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin in its trading app. Bitcoin Cash and XRP were added later.
