MediConnect, a British startup specializing in blockchain technology, has just announced it has successfully completed the development of a blockchain solution for tracking and managing medications.
This new solution will reportedly allow the monitoring of the supply chain of medications from the manufacturer until they are received by the end user.
The company plans to carry out a pilot test during 2020 and already has 10 participants. As part of the pilot, MediConnect will integrate the processes of online pharmacy UK Meds into its blockchain platform, allowing products to be traced through its supply chain and preventing the misuse of prescription medications.
The purpose of this platform is reportedly to have greater control over prescription medicines in the UK.
