French crypto news source Cryptonews has recently reported that by early 2020, 30 major retailers in France - with a total of 25,000 stores across the country - will accept bitcoin as a means of payment.
Well-known retailers such as Decathlon and cosmetics specialist Sephora are some of the retailers that will start accepting bitcoin payments.
The service to pay with bitcoin will be available thanks to a partnership between point-of-sale tech provider Global POS, the EasyWallet application and payments platform Easy2Play.
Even though payments will be made in bitcoin, the funds will be directly converted into fiat money. The conversion service will be provided by Deskoin and Savitar, which have already applied for a Digital Asset Service Provider license to the French regulator.
Earlier this month it was reported that PwC, one of the 4 largest auditing firms in the world, had just announced that starting next month it will accept cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in its Luxembourg office.
