The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, has rolled out its first blockchain-based service to save and share the assessment information of health professionals.

According to the official press release, the service will reportedly cover healthcare employees in public and private health facilities overseen by the Ministry.

Assistant Under-Secretary of the Support Services Sector Awad Saghir Al Ketbi states the Ministry has successfully developed the necessary infrastructure for a blockchain-based decentralized database.

"In the first stage, we will link the system of evaluation of health workers with public and private health authorities and other relevant institutions to create a single digital platform with access to the portfolio of health professionals," Saghir Al Ketbi added.

Earlier iHodl reported that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia launched a pilot central cryptocurrency — to be used for cross border transactions between central and local banks of the two countries.
