Popular bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) supporter, ex-hedge fund manager and Chief Executive Officer of well-known crypto investment firm Galaxy Digital, Michael Novogratz, in a recent interview with The Block shared a story of how he missed an opportunity to invest in Telegram's upcoming blockchain.
Novogratz says he is really excited to see Telegram's progress due to the messenger's user base, which is nearly 280 million users.
In addition to that, Galaxy Digital CEO said the Telegram team had called 15-20 times to try to get him but when they did, Novogratz rejected to invest due to the skepticism around his employees on Telegram's product.
"They had called 15-20 times to try to get me. And I said no no, my guys hate it, and then I changed my mind. But I changed my mind about three weeks too late and he’s [Telegram's founder Pavel Durov] like, dude, I can’t help you," Novogratz said.
Previously Novogratz expressed his beliefs bitcoin could continue its steady growth thanks to the global financial instability.
Earlier this month Telegram Open Network (TON), a blockchain platform developed by the Telegram messenger, launched its testnet and nodes.
