Bitcoin payment provider BitPay will shortly start supporting the Ethereum blockchain.
The bitcoin provider claims the reason for the support is high demand among the client base. BitPay will be soon able to support ERC-20 tokens, namely, stablecoins, states the official blog post.
Thus, BitPay states it will add support for the Gemini USD stablecoin, Paxos Standard and USD Coin.
"It is exciting to see BitPay leading the way in integrating Ethereum into global payment systems. This truly opens up a new world of possibilities for the Ethereum ecosystem, and together we can continue to be a leading innovator for real world use cases for cryptocurrencies," Vitalik Buterin said.
Earlier iHodl reported that BitPay banned donations that were sent from donors to the Hong Kong Free Press news media.
