Finnish p2p bitcoin trading platform LocalBitcoins is advising its users not to use free and open-source software for enabling anonymous communication called Tor.

According to the post on twitter, LocalBitcoins is now showing a warning banner, claiming that the Tor browser exposes the risk of having bitcoins stolen.

A LocalBitcoins' representative noted that using a Tor browser is not against LocalBitcoins' Terms of Service, even though it has not been recommended "for security reasons."

Earlier this month iHodl reported that those traders whose trading volume does not exceed 1,000 euros, must provide the platform with the full name, country of residence, email and phone number.
