Finney, the world's first blockchain smartphone, will go on sale in Bangladesh, the local daily The Daily Star reports.

The Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission reportedly approved the importation of the device last month and it will go on sale in the country in October.

The launch of this new device based on crypto's underlying technology could not have come at a better time, as smartphone sales are currently experiencing a significant increase. According to a report published last year by global research company GSMA Intelligence, by 2025, 75% of the country's population will own a smartphone, while 41% will have access to the Internet through these devices.

Finney will be available in the Bangladeshi market for $999, a relatively high price if we consider that Samsung Galaxy S10, whose price is $894, is cheaper.
