Telegram Open Network (TON), a blockchain platform developed by the Telegram messenger, has launched its testnet and nodes.
From now on, anyone can start testing a full node, the blockchain explorer and a validator node.
Chief Technology Officer at TON Labs, Mitja Goroshevsky, claims there are currently 100 nodes on the testnet.
Previously it was expected that the TON testnet would be launch on Sep. 1st, however, under unknown circumstances the launch was delayed.
The Telegram team promised that TON will process transactions faster than Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains and will be able to compete in speed of payments with Visa and Mastercard.
Earlier iHodl reported that Telegram's blockchain network will be compatible with the Ethereum blockchain.
