Samsung to Release New Blockchain Smartphone

Samsung, the world's largest smartphone maker, has just announced the launch of a new version of the Galaxy Note 10 based on blockchain tech, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The new device, named KlaytnPhone after the blockchain network developed by messaging giant Kakao, will start to be sold today only in South Korea.

This version of the Galaxy Note 10 will come with an integrated crypto wallet as well as with blockchain apps installed.

The device will reportedly be sold at $1,000, and its buyers will receive a certain amount of Klay, Kalytn's native token.

This is not the first time the South Korean company launches a blockchain device. It has previously released a blockchain version of the Galaxy S10 with an integrated cryptocurrency wallet and compatibility with dApps.

It has recently been reported the company plans to integrate blockchain features into its budget smartphones.
