One of the world's largest sports betting companies FanDuel has announced two contests to give fans an opportunity to win Bitcoin while playing fantasy football.
The betting company claims this is the first time a sports tech company has awarded a cryptocurrency in a consumer promotion.
Starting from the Week 1 of the NFL Playoffs, FanDuel will host a free, single-entry contest — The Bitcoin Bowl Free Play — that will offer one user the chance to win one bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin).
FanDuel CFO Andy Giancamilli says FanDuel has always sought to deliver "the most unique and rewarding experiences" or prizes to its users.
"In awarding Bitcoin, we’re recognizing that most of our users are early adopters of technology and have a significant interest in cryptocurrency. Our fans love the prizing aspect of playing on our site and we think this will be a reward that they truly appreciate," he added.
