SBI Gives its Shareholders Dividends in XRP

Japanese financial services giant SBI has just announced the launch of a dividend program to reward its investors with XRP, Ripple's token.

All investors holding at least 100 or more shares of SBI Holdings will reportedly receive 30 XRP coins as a dividend, the company reported yesterday.

In order to benefit from this program, shareholders must open a free account in crypto exchange SBI VC Trade. Once they do so, SBI Holdings will transfer the XRP tokens to the investors' account.

All shareholders interested in taking part in this initiative can join the program until March 31. SBI will e-mail more details on the program by mid-November.

SBI has made this decision because the company believes that cryptocurrencies "are already used globally to fulfill various functions, such as settlements and remittances."
