TRON-owned p2p software company BitTorrent has just announced it will start testing its blockchain-based live streaming platform during the third quarter of this year, the company reported yesterday on its official blog.

The platform, dubbed BitTorrent Live (BLive), supports both live video content and an instant messaging service.

The launching of the platform will go through different stages, since the company intends to launch different versions of its platform (alpha, beta and complete) between the third quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020.

The alpha version, the platform's current version, has been distributed among a limited number of users so that they can test it internally at the same time developers keep working on its development.

BLive is compatible with several payment methods, including bitcoin and BitTorrent (BTT), the company's native token, and offers zero-fee transactions. Besides, it also supports withdrawals and deposits with other services such as PayPal, Google Wallet and Apple Pay...

Ihodl reported earlier this year that BitTorrent had launched its native token, BTT, on TRON's network.
