Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced its plans to roll out an open blockchain project called Venus.

The main idea of the project is to develop localized stablecoins and digital assets pegged to fiat currencies across the globe.

According to the official announcement, Binance has already reserved its public chain and cross-border payment system "for secure operations of new stablecoins."

"Binance is looking to create new alliances and partnerships with governments, corporations, technology companies, and other cryptocurrency companies and projects involved in the larger blockchain ecosystem, to empower developed and developing countries to spur new currencies," states the announcement.

Previously iHodl reported that the U.S. division of the exchange, Binance.US will likely be launched by November.
