Fintech startup Revolut has announced the launch of commission-free stock trading to the UK and Europe for Revolut Metal customers.

Revolut it’s a free-to-use digital payment platform, which includes a prepaid debit card, currency exchange, crypto exchange, and p2p payments. The platform was founded in 2015 by Nikolay Storonsky and Vladyslav Yatsenko.

According to the official announcement, the new feature will allow Revolut Metal cardholders to make up to 100 commission-free stock trades per month, supported by real-time price and performance data.

The company claims it’ll begin to roll the service out to its Standard and Premium customers too.

"Revolut Metal customers can make up to 100 commission-free trades per month in over 300 U.S. listed stocks on the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ with real-time prices and stock performance data. Any trades thereafter will be charged at £1 per trade. Trades with Revolut are instant, with a 0.01 percent annual custody fee and no account minimums," states the official announcement.

Last year, Revolut received a European banking license. Hence, Revolut clients can get an overdraft and deposit their salaries, protected up to €100,000 under the European Deposit Insurance Scheme.
