San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has just hired Kevin Beardsley, former managing director of the B2C2 over-the-counter platform, to lead Kraken Futures (formerly known as Crypto Facilities), its bitcoin futures project, TheBlockCrypto.com reported yesterday.

The trading platform acquired its London-based futures division earlier this year. Kraken has made the decision to hire Kevin as part of its efforts to compete with other platforms such as Bitfinex, Binance and Huobi, which have already announced or launched their own derivatives platforms.

In order to compete with such platforms, Kraken has developed a platform with a unique fee and trading infrastructure. The exchange claims to have paid out as much as $200,000 to some of its traders in certain weeks.

Beardsley seems to be very excited about his new task and truly believes the company can beat its competitors, since, according to him, "what I really like about Kraken is that it is a crypto native business, so it is from the ground up built on crypto infrastructure."
