Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Visa, Inc., Alfred F. Kelly, Jr, during a recent Q3 2019 earnings call said that at this moment, Facebook's stablecoin has no real partners.
Kelly claims the payment provider has only signed a nonbinding letter of intent to join Libra.
"So we have signed a nonbinding letter of intent to join Libra. We're one of – I think it's 27 companiesthat have expressed that interest. So no one has yet officially joined," Kelly added.
Visa CEO also highlighted the company right now is in discussions and its ultimate decision to join "will be determined by a number of factors."
Earlier, David Marcus, the Head of Facebook's Libra project, said that the social network does not plan to launch Libra until all regulatory issues have been addressed.
